Sunbird Hoops is based in Dingmans Ferry, PA and is dedicated to helping people tone their bodies and free their mind.  It is hoop dance, combined with fitness.  Sunbird Hoops was founded in 2010 by Amie Martell.

My hoop journey began in the summer of 2007, while at the All Good Music Festival in WV.  While sitting atop the hill watching the bands perform, a woman wandered into the crowd with her hoop and began to dance.  I was so entranced by the beauty of her movements within the hoop, that I came home and purchased a custom hoop from a friend of mine.  From that point on, I was hooked.  I researched the art and practiced every chance I got.  My body learned things I never thought imaginable.  My mind and body benefited tremendously.  Since then, I have made it my mission to spread the joy of hooping by teaching, holding workshops and performing, all the while still learning myself.
